Fun with the camera

Some random shots and scribblings to stimulate discussion and fuel debate.

The Desk

I’ll show you mine, if you’ll show me yours. How did all of this junk get onto my desk in the first place? In no particular order, a pestle and mortar, an energy saving light bulb, a soapstone statuette from Zim, a glass coaster with chillis drying out, a piece of rock, a CD, a piece of paper, a peg, a file and and a cut-out of a quote by George Best, “I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars, then I squandered the rest”, and in the background, some beans drying out and an aerial for our wireless network.

Mantis and grandfather.

Took this shot of a Mantis and with a little bit of technology, changed it into an old sepia photo, Pretty nifty effect.

Greek Gecko.

Take a gecko, over-expose it with a flash at extreme macro range. Then convert it into a mosaic,

Art for art sake.

How can people pay millions for cr*p like this? Maybe I’m a Philistine, but I cannot begin to understand the value in modern art (wink to the family).
