The Barbeque.

“Bongani’s Traditional Meats. How may I help you?”

“Yes, hello, I’d like to order some meat please”

“Certainly sir, any special occasion?”

“Ahh, no, not really, just a small family barbeque.”

“Right, what will it be then?”

“I think, ahh, give me three please.”

“Bulls, cows, heifers, tollies?”

“Ahh, give me two heifers and a tollie please.”

“Right, do you need them delivered sir?”

“Yes, to Gugulethu please. What is your delivery charge?”

“To Gugulethu, let me see, R100 per animal sir.”

“Isn’t that a bit steep?”

“Not really sir, we have a state-of-the art delivery vehicle, and then there’s fuel, and the driver. It all costs money sir.”

“OK then. Saturday afternoon. Name’s Yengeni. Do you know the address?”

“Yes sir, Mr Yengeni, of course we do. See you on Saturday.”

“One more thing.”

“Yes, Mr Yengeni?”

“Just make sure they’re in good condition when they arrive. I’ve gor the SPCA on my case at the moment.”

“Certainly sir, we take extreme care during deliveries of this nature.”
